MyTakedown

Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 17, 2026

MyTakedown is a service of Arcate Labs LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company ("MyTakedown," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our website at mytakedown.com and related services (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Contact information — name, email address, phone number
  • Business information — business name, location, address
  • Case details — URLs, platform names, descriptions of content you want removed, supporting documents you upload
  • Communications — emails and messages you send to our support team

Information collected automatically

  • Device and browser data — IP address, browser type, operating system, screen resolution
  • Usage data — pages visited, features used, clicks, scroll depth, time spent on pages
  • Session recordings — we may record anonymized replays of your browsing sessions to improve the user experience (sensitive form inputs like passwords and payment details are automatically excluded)
  • Cookies and similar technologies — we use first-party cookies and analytics tools to understand how you use our Service

Information from third-party sources

When you run a scan, we query third-party services on your behalf — including AI platforms, search engines, and public data aggregators — to compile your report. We do not control the data these sources return, and the results reflect publicly available or AI-generated information at the time of the scan.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve our Service
  • To process your scan requests and generate reports
  • To manage your takedown cases and communicate case updates
  • To send transactional emails (scan results, case updates, magic link authentication)
  • To respond to your support inquiries
  • To analyze usage patterns and improve our product
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not send marketing newsletters unless you explicitly opt in. Transactional emails related to your scans, reports, and active cases are not marketing communications.

3. How We Share Your Information

We may share your information with:

  • Service providers — cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics, and payment processing providers that help us operate the Service
  • Third-party platforms — when filing removal requests on your behalf, we may share relevant case details (your name, the content URL, and your authorization) with the platform hosting the content
  • Legal compliance — if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect our rights, safety, or property

We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Data Retention

  • Scan reports — retained for as long as your account is active, or up to 12 months after your last interaction if no account exists
  • Case files and documents — retained for the duration of your case plus 24 months, to support any follow-up or re-filing needs
  • Lead information — retained for up to 24 months after last contact
  • Analytics data — aggregated and anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely

You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@mytakedown.com.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS/SSL), secure cloud infrastructure, and access controls. Case documents are stored in encrypted cloud storage with access limited to authorized personnel.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Request a portable copy of your data
  • Opt out of analytics and session recording

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@mytakedown.com.

California residents (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to request deletion. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication (magic link sessions), analytics (usage patterns, session recordings), and essential site functionality. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect your ability to use certain features of the Service.

8. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Users

Our Service is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
